South of Ulaanbaatar, hike up the mountains from the Ger camp via the nature resort. From half way up, find a way through the mountain to the east. It is partly unmarked and a long hike to Tsetse Gun. From there, you can then go towards Zamiin Uud and reach the Mansushir Monastery about 1.5 hours after you start your descent from the peak. The peak can be reached in about 2 hours from the the Mansushir Monastery in the south, or in about 5 hours from the Ger camp in Zaisan starting from the north of the Bogd Khan mountains. The trail through the forest can be in bad condition, especially after rain it can be very muddy. Be aware of that!
Start from the Gercamp in Tsaisan and walk up the hill. prepare some offline map to head towards Tsetse Gun.
Highest peak in the immediate surroundings of Ulaanbaatar.
no
There is no Basecamp per se. Just stay in Ulaanbaatar, take a taxi to the Gercamp in the morning and hike up to Tsetsegun. Just make sure you will be back well before it gets dark!
